Creating, performing, choreographing, dancing in the street for a political cause in its most visible, public, citizen expression, in coordination with activists and demonstrators, or even grafting themselves to their actions, and using a way of communicating between political slogan and artistic expression, could give a renewed meaning to both the dancing artist and the activist, creating a hybrid being of a new kind: “THE DANCING ARTIST”, the being that takes the question of ‘res publica’, of politics and city affairs, in a choreographic direction.
The non-utilitarian movement becomes a relationship to the usefulness of things, the metaphor becomes an action that requires a reaction in the reality of the world, the symbolic is married to the concrete of the city’s activities.
