A choreographic comedy

Since, within one month, three Greats of Dance died and since this dismal fate brought them together, I decided to evoke altogether the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, the Queen of Tanztheater, Pina Bausch, and the Emperor of Dance Revolution, Merce Cunningham, in a triple « humoriscritic » and vivifying tribute.

Etant donné qu’en l’espace d’un mois, trois Grands de la Danse sont morts, et que ce hasard funèbre les a réunis, j’ai décidé d’évoquer le Roi de la Pop, Michael Jackson, la Reine du Tanztheater, Pina Bausch, et l’Empereur de la Dance Revolution, Merce Cunningham, dans un triple hommage « humoriscritique » vivifiant.

* The first sketch, in english, was commissioned by Datanzda (organized by Angelika Ächter and Anne Rosset) at the Tanzhaus Zürich on October 15 2009. A 1.5 english version was presented in New York at Dance New Amsterdam on January 11th 2010. A French version was created in Geneva at the Grü/Théâtre pluridisciplinaire, version 2.0 on February 18 and 2.1 on February 19 2010.

Une version francophone a été créée à Genève au Grü/Théâtre pluridisciplinaire, version 2.0 le 18 et 2.1 le 19 février 2010.
